It is clear that winter is near as the phone rings for clothing appointments!  Winter coats, boots and gloves are going out the door.  Keeping sizes available for all on hand is important. If you have a warm coat you no longer need that has a working zipper, we can pass it along to someone who needs it.

This week at least three infants will have beds, formally homeless adults will have furniture to make their empty apartments comfortable and families have cookware to heat their food.  Many have taken devotionals home with them. We are so thankful God has given us the opportunity to share with others in desperate times. For many, these moments are testimonies of how God has provided when their hope was gone.

There are many gracious volunteers who contribute their time to get ready for our next referral.  Whether it is sorting, hanging or steaming clothing, packing up household items, delivering, or answering the phone,  each task is an act of giving. If you know a volunteer, please tell them ” thank you “.

We are very thankful to the many volunteers who are dedicating time to Reach & Restore!  It is a gift to be around people who want to make a difference.

The single parenting class is a blessing. Please continue to pray for the ladies and helpers. If you know someone who might be wanting to join this fall session, have them give us a call for more information.

A huge thank you to the God Squad (children’s program at Ridgewood Church) who gathered many useful items that were needed at Reach & Restore! Teaching children while they are young to give and care about others as Christ asks is very important!

This week we had a call from a woman who had surgery yesterday. She asked for a bed frame so she’d be able to get out of her bed with less pain while healing.  Praise God we had one come in the day before she called.  We don’t believe in coincidences.  God orchestrates these moments!  Thankfully, today her mattress is off the floor and we’ll be praying for her recovery.

Our biggest need is financial at this time.  Trusting in God’s faithfulness is humbling and awesome!

Please pray for our upcoming Single Parenting Class which begins next week!  We expect 6-8 moms and will have childcare.  There will be curriculum that will include a video, workbook and discussion.  We believe lives will be encouraged and God will be glorified!

Currently, we are in need of boys and mens shoes, 3-T- size 12 boy clothing, adult underwear (new and modest), kitchen linens and utensils, can openers, pots and pans, lamps, full and queen bedding and beds.

Please consider supporting Reach & Restore financially as we are seeking monthly contributions to keep our doors open to our community.  If your place of work or business makes donations through United Way, Reach & Restore can be designated as an option.  Contact us for more information on how your office can make an impact together.
