Today there were reminders placed before us that we are not wasting our time or energy to serve others unconditionally. A family that was helped last winter reconnected via email today expressing her thanks to the people who really made a difference for them in time of need. Unfortunately, they have been a shelter for 2 months because of mold in their last rental home. Next week they will get to go to a different rental home and are very excited.  We have asked if they will need help and are waiting to hear back.

Another woman we have helped called and on the verge of tears told us how thankful she is that we are in her life. She just told her therapist about the assistance she has received and how it’s so good for her to be able to talk to someone.

Yesterday, a man was assisted in unpacking his things at his apartment. Due to a car accident in which his back was broken a year ago, he is still restricted in lifting and moving. His “friends” dumped his belongings on his living room floor and left in a hurry.  The service crew that put his essentials away had a great time together making a difference in his life.

There will be a delivery this weekend for a new referral and we are still praying for and searching for a storage solution. It appears the building we are in has sold but we have no word on the timing of anything yet.

The summer is flying by!

Last week was our busiest week ever. There were 6 families who were assisted. One was

for moving help, and 5 were starting over with the help of our delivered donations. There was a tiny bit of panic, trying to coordinate all of the logistics but every step of the way, God provided the right help. Twelve beds were delivered!

A few of our swimmers still need housing. It has been very frustrating for them and for us as the options just don’t fit what is right for them.

The Reach & Restore Board submitted a grant application last week as well. We are praying that this will be a funding source for next year as we work on expanding this ministry into the community.

Please continue to pray for more volunteers to show interest in meeting families. The Life Preserver role is such a key part to this ministry.  The referrals keep coming in and not all are getting the personal follow up attention we want to give them.

One of our swimmers will be entering treatment very soon. Please pray for her!  She is very ready and anxious all at once. Worried about confronting her past abuse.  God heals!

Since our last entry we have become incorporated and the Board has met twice. God has brought together an excellent combination of people to move the ministry forward. Please pray as we search for one more member and an accountant.

As this has evolved, research continues to be gathered as we meet with other people involved in organizations that help people in need.  We also have been thankful for the transition to the smaller storage area but just found out last week that the building is for sale. Currently, the space is not large enough for our furniture donations. This is another matter of prayer.  We’ll need to be prepared to move on if the building sells and the new owner has plans for it.  The good thing is we have loved the location and agree that staying close to that area is beneficial to the crew.

A woman was moved successfully and efficiently with a great crew of helpers. The whole move the lady said,”thank you so much, thank you so much for helping me”.  Other families have been touched with unconditional love from this ministry the past month. A homeless couple was delivered bikes, food, shoes and basic toiletries and were overwhelmed. A few follow ups since, there was a huge extra thanks for the shoes.  They are currently in a camper and searching for work. A poor financial decision got them in this mess. We received a call from a woman that was helped a while ago who told us “I just want to thank your church. I can’t believe complete strangers would take their time to help me.”

Jesus asked us to help and that’s what this ministry is all about. Obeying. Gal 5:14

Thank you for your support and we surrender the future of R&R to Him who knows, provides and

loves all!
