Time is flying by!  Please continue to pray as crew members investigate and discuss a very interesting door that God is leading us to. There have been so many encouraging words by R&R friends and supporters.  We trust in what God can do when we are willing to serve. We will not weary in doing good. We are listening and watching for signs, knowing God will answer our prayers in His time.

We received a follow up visit request to complete the organization help for the woman who is going through foreclosure. She found out the day before that the house was going on the market in 2 days and needed help getting her 2 closets sorted out. A few crew members were able to help and she was so proud to show off how much better her place looked since we first met her. We had a conversation about her church background and learned about how she was going to court soon because someone beat her up a few months ago. This woman is really bouncing back right now even though she’s losing her home. God is speaking to her heart. What a blessing to meet her.

A request for mattresses was posted online and a woman called saying she had 15 emails for her box spring but read our request and wanted to give to R&R. This is not the first time this has happened but it’s always a sign that God provides what is needed in mysterious and marvelous ways.

Our local food shelf referred a couple to us who had been sleeping on a used hotel mattress on the floor for 2 years!  Both of them had back issues. She had 3 rods in her back and the man was having back surgery due to an accident, in the near future.  A mattress became available and at the pick up, the donor was told who it was going to. The donor shared that his wife was a nurse for a back surgeon!  That was such a God thing.  The couple was overjoyed and in tears when the bed was delivered.  “It’s not often that people do things to help others. Thank you so much. You don’t know what this means to us.”

The large family of 9 was given a few more furniture items yesterday and while this visit took place, one of them asked for prayer.

At the end of the month R&R will be helping with another move. This woman is 65 and has a neck brace. She is very thankful because she had no idea what she was going to do.

We got another request for beds. The mother is sleeping on blankets and the 6’4″ kid is sleeping on a twin.  A larger bed would be better for the boy- we know God will deliver!

He Is Risen!  He brings HOPE to the weary and LIFE to those who seek Him!  We are all thankful for the opportunities and results!

A homeless man received a bed for his newly rented apartment.

A woman who has arthritis in her back received a different couch that gives her much more support. Her used couch was delivered to her daughter to help her out.

The woman who had her baby found a different apartment and was given the household items and furniture she needed to start over. It was beautiful to see everything come together for her. She has now started attending church with the lady who referred her to us which is in the area of her new place.

The boy who needed a safe replacement mattress set was helped.  He is still attending the youth outreach program every week and his mom desires to attend church with him in the near future.

A family of 5 was given beds, furniture and household items with the help of our delivery crew.

A few families were connected to resources in their areas.

A single mom who moved to a different apartment in the area due to an assault at the last apt. building, received a bed and bedding.

A family of 9 is being served this week who is new to the area. We’ve delivered 3 beds, a couch and table with some kitchen things so far. We’re searching for kitchen chairs and a few more twin beds. Without transportation, it’s nearly impossible to get to the food shelf and back with that much food.  Their food was ready and was picked up and delivered with the donated Easter Baskets for the kids. Quite an amazing experience. Before leaving, the 9th grader asked if there was a church van picking up kids for youth group!  We’ll be making sure this happens and possibly opens the door for the rest of them to connect with others in the area.

A lady who is going through foreclosure was given organization help last week. It was so amazing to see the difference in her between the beginning and end of the project.  She was so stuck before we arrived and now sounds so free!  Little did she know that the realtor was coming and putting the home on the market in two days!  She said,” people are coming over to my house! You did such a great job. You gave me initiative to get it done. Thank you!”  She wants to attend church now.  It is so sad what depression can do to a person!  Jesus brings hope through people who serve!

There are surely people that haven’t been mentioned but currently, we are scheduled to give a bike to a woman who has no transportation, and help two families move this week.

Please Pray about an opportunity for Reach & Restore to expand the ministry. The Lord has opened a door and we will listen!   The financial scope seems impossible but we know and have proof that God provides for His will to be done -so we trust and obey!  All responses to the vision have been positive.  Only God can put all the people and pieces into place.

Thank you for supporting your community and serving the Risen King!

The past few weeks have displayed many examples of Christ’s body working together for His glory. A few from our crew helped a family clean their apt. in preparation of a new baby. The mother was overwhelmed and depressed before the first visit a few months ago and now seems to be more mentally ready to move forward after the three visits from our crew. She even accepted prayer before leaving!

Followed up with a woman who was given help moving before Christmas. She is really motivated to work on her personal goals of quitting smoking etc. She is going to counseling and desires to attend church, just lacks transportation and is bit nervous about going alone. She is looking forward to some home visits that will be focused on praying for her. Last week R&R helped her bring her cat into the vet for shots. Her cat is her best friend and this meant the world to her.  Please pray for continued commitment towards her personal goals and praise God for this wonderful opportunity and friendship!

One of the deliveries made a few weeks ago was pretty incredible. The family had been without a home since 2002!  They had been living in shelters, friends’ homes, their car etc. and now have their own rental. They are so excited about their new start and the household items that were donated that they are having an open house for their friends to celebrate!  The mom reported they have everything they need and they finally have a home that feels like a home. Everything matched too.  The high school boys were putting the computer right to use as they had homework to complete that week!  “Unbelievable” they said.  Thank you for all who contribute to this ministry! Praise God.

A follow up to another move we helped with is really positive too.  This was just a move but the single mom is so so thankful for all of the help. Her son is now attending a youth program in the area and they want to try Sunday church too. Her son needs a new mattress set which we are working on-the springs are poking through.

A referral was made by a donation source too. A friend of her sister who just got home from the hospital from having her first baby and the father had taken most of their things out of their place while she was in the hospital!  She needed a crib and basic baby items and someone to talk to.  We had a portable crib in storage and added some baby essentials. The new mom was very encouraged and thankful for everything. She will be moving at the end of the month because she can’t afford the rent herself. R&R is helping her search for an affordable 1 bedroom place and will be providing some basic furniture when she moves. She is sleeping on an air mattress currently.  She is a ray of sunshine and a really sweet new friend. She has been touched by grace and is seeing God’s love first hand. Please pray for her as she is healing and must now figure out how to make it on her own.

We have a referral/request for furniture for a family from a school in the area. We’ve been looking for mattresses for them too. Two mattresses were found on line= no boxsprings. God is so amazing.

When the mattresses were picked up the lady said,”I’m sorry they aren’t the same length. I probably should have told you before”.  It was perfect. R&R had one regular box spring and one extra long box spring sitting in storage!  So now we’ve got two complete sets for this family. There have been numerous times when God has reminded us that we don’t need to worry= he provides!

An R&R friend will be helping with our church musical this spring. He has sound experience and it’s wonderful to involve him in a church activity. Please pray that he will be touched by the message of the play the children are doing as he listens. He was assisted with a loan for keeping his car insurance current yesterday. He said we were the only place he knew to turn to for help and was SO relieved to receive it. Sometimes God stretches us right on the spot!

A social worker requested a small couch for a family who is deaf. A delivery crew member and woman from our church who knows how to sign, delivered a donated couch together. It was incredible to have communication for all involved. Praise God for the hands and feet of Christ to bless others in need as a team!

Something as simple as doing laundry…we sure take for granted. A family received laundry detergent  from R&R this week.

R&R received a donation of dressers from an area senior housing complex. They were going to be thrown out due to a remodel. A woman who worked there made the connection with us and now they will be used by a number of R&R families in the future. Praise God!

Thank you to all who keep this ministry in prayer!
